Steps to Success Project

Through a partnership approach, DEAP provide employability and accredited training, job brokering, work placement, information, advice and guidance to economically inactive and unemployed residents throughout Angus. We are continuing to support our Steps to Success clients new and old to break down barriers and promote inclusion to increase and maximise their job opportunities. This project is fully funded by the Big Lottery.

We provide regular CV writing workshops and support to our clients with online and traditional job applications.

A group of our clients recently attended a budgeting workshop which was delivered by the ADAPT project at CAB which was extremely well received.

Employability Fund

The Employability Fund is for unemployed individuals aged 16 and over who wish to gain the skills, qualifications and experience necessary to secure employment.  No formal qualifications are required to take part in the training programme.  However, a full assessment interview will be completed prior to starting to ensure this is the right training opportunity for you.

Stage 2 (Aged 16-17 and 18+) you will improve your employability skills, personal development and gain valuable work experience.  It is anticipated that you will progress to Stage 3 of the Employability Fund (if appropriate), further education or training, modern apprenticeship or employment.

Stage 3 (Aged 16-17 and 18+) – you will improve your employability skills in preparation for the move into employment by gaining valuable work experience.  It is expected that you will progress into further education or training, employment or modern apprenticeship.

Stage 4 (Aged 18+) – you will improve your employability skills and be placed with an employer (from our large portfolio of local employers) who can provide job opportunities if the placement is successful.   Progression at this stage will be into employment, modern apprenticeship, further education or training.

Additional Information

Dependent on your needs, you will have access to SQA/SCQF qualifications and other accredited training courses and work experience.

Our program is flexible and can range from 8 up to a maximum of 13 weeks on program, and attendance will be between 15 and 30 hours per week.

Depending on your individual circumstances you may be eligible for a Young Person’s Training Allowance of £55 per week and travel expenses.
