Steps to Success Project
Through a partnership approach, DEAP provide employability and accredited training, job brokering, work placement, information, advice and guidance to economically inactive and unemployed residents throughout Angus. We are continuing to support our Steps to Success clients new and old to break down barriers and promote inclusion to increase and maximise their job opportunities. This project is fully funded by the Big Lottery.
We provide regular CV writing workshops and support to our clients with online and traditional job applications.
A group of our clients recently attended a budgeting workshop which was delivered by the ADAPT project at CAB which was extremely well received.
The Employabilty Fund in Angus offers support to unemployed individuals aged 18-24 and 25+ and focuses on training and development for those who are struggling either to get back into work or start their working life.
Within DEAP, both Stage 3 and Stage 4 of The Employability Fund focuses on providing people with work experience specifically tailored to increase their ability to secure employment within their chosen professions/career paths.
We offer various structured employability sessions, which cover the basics when it comes to promoting yourself and improving your CV. These sessions include, but are not restricted to the following:
• Employer expectations/employee expectations
• Spec letter/cover letter training
• CV training
• Customer Service skills
• Basic health and safety training
• Identification of key strengths & skills
Furthermore, The Employability Fund offers a chance to gain several SQA accredited qualifications, which can give you many new transferable skills, in order to progress in your chosen career path through either, employment, modern apprenticeships or further education.
