Growing New Pathways for Brian

Brian initially got in touch with DEAP to see how we could support him to get his CSCS card. Brian was unemployed as he was recovering from a heart attack & was unsure if he return to the heavy labouring type jobs he had done before. Brian agreed he would also benefit from the support of the Dundee Pathway provision and agreed to registered for additional support.

Brian completed and learned from a range of employability interventions whilst on the pathway. During his time with DEAP he also achieved his level 1 Health & Safety andĀ CSCS test and now holds a CSCS Card. Throughout the period of lockdown Brian continued to be supported by Kay, and was given emotional and practical support that gave him the confidence to feel he could apply and gain employment again.

A skilled labourer vacancy arose for a Property, Garden & Maintenance company. Kay, his support worker at DEAP, felt it was a perfect match for Brian and helped him apply for the post, including completing a skills sheet. He was supported with all aspects of the selection process, skills alignments, interview, and work trial which resulted in Brian gaining permanent employment.
