Support Worker - Steps to Success Project
I have been employed by DEAP since January 2012 initially on a 6 month Community Jobs Scotland position as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant and within 4 months I had become a full time member of staff employed as a Support Worker for the Steps to Success Project. During my time I have built up my skills and expertise to give the clients the best help and advice possible. I currently run information session for clients on a wide range of employability subjects. These sessions are run in conjunction with our partner organisations. I also work on the Employability Fund, helping source and manage placements together with the delivery of employability training sessions to ensure the clients are ready to go out on placement. I have managed to build up excellent relationships with local employers who we can approach for work placements when needed. I also like interacting with the clients and getting them to have a laugh and a joke to make the office a less intimidating place to come. My previous experience is in retail and customer service. I also have multimedia qualifications which have been useful within my role. Away from work I enjoy spending time with my friends and following football at home and abroad. I enjoy visiting new places and trying their different delicacies and local refreshments.
